The '''Eldritch Medical Ward''', also known at the time as the Eldritch Asylum, is believed to be one of YoWorld's earliest if not the first form of role-play to arise in YoWorld's history. Events for the hospital ran from October 2008, to January 2009. The exact dates of its run are unknown at this time. Initially, it was rumored to have a ward for individuals with psychological ailments. This rumor was later proven to be false. The scale of the events consisted of several houses, allegedly connected through teleporter doors. One such inhabitant, interviewed in 2016, who preferred to simply go by "Jack", claimed that in his time there, many rooms and several of the wings were sealed off for unknown reasons. But he shared that, at the time, there were rumors of of a secret "hub", or chamber, filled with teleport doors that the Everlastings (who ran the hospital), used to "teleport" or get around the massive hospital easily. The founder of the institution was Kendrake Eldritch Everlasting, and his family, who some believe to be the predecessors, or ancestors to [[Marylaid Everlasting]], and a whole line of Everlastings through YoWorld's history.

News paper article clip from January 2009, detailing an alleged fire that occurred at the hospital.

The Eldritch Medical Ward, also known at the time as the Eldritch Asylum, is believed to be one of YoWorld's earliest if not the first form of role-play to arise in YoWorld's history. The founder of the institution was Kendrake Eldritch Everlasting, and his family, who some believe to be the predecessors, or ancestors to Marylaid Everlasting, and a whole line of Everlastings through YoWorld's history.

It's decrease in popularity lead to its shutdown in early 2009, however, the original owners claim that the cause of closure was a mysterious fire that had burned down one of the main buildings.

Background Information[]

Eldritch Asylum Room 1

An image from 2014 - showing what is believed to be a hoax image to one of the rooms of the hospital. It is believed to be a hoax because the walls/floors used were not available at the time the hospital was active.

It is believed, that the hospital created a foundation for other roleplays to further arrive in YoWorld. Especially with the rise of popularity of it in 2010. It was initially believed that Eldritch hosted over 500 different users who roleplayed as different characters. That number is now closer to 450 as new information is found. Two administrators who worked there, were allegedly Kendrake Everlasting, and a player who went by Sister Eterna. The pair were allegedly siblings. Kendrake would later marry a woman known as Mariah, who would also run the place. Later, it would only become Sister Eterna and Mariah who ran the hospital. Kendrake disappeared from further events for unknown reasons.

In late December 2008, Kendrake hired Dr. Stanley Morbid. He was the one in charge of the health department. It was his job to make sure every patient got medical attention whenever it was needed. After being at Eldritch for a while, many complaints from the patients reached the powers that be. Dr. Stanley, according to complaints, was performing unnecessary or bizarre experiments on the patients of Eldritch. After the news got to Mariah and Sister Eterna, they proceeded to fire Dr. Stanley, only to find out that he was attacked by a patient who would not cooperate. After the incident, many claimed that Dr. Stanley was never seen at the asylum, ever again.

In early January 2009, the Asylum expanded to other houses, it is believed that the place took up three to four different homes. Some claim to have found an extra home which was believed to be a children's ward, but the existence of this ward has never been fully proven. In 2014, images began to circulate on social media from a user who claimed to have found the ruins of the original hospital. The images were later believed to be a hoax due to the fact that certain elements, such as walls, floors, and even specific elements like the cobwebs seen in the image, weren't available at the time when the hospital was in service. After being accused of hoaxing their findings, the user deleted their account.

Staff[]

Here is a short list of the known staff that worked at the facility. Today, many of the staff remain unknown. This list will be updated as more information becomes available.

  • Kendrake Eldritch Everlasting - owner, founder, management
  • Eterna Everlasting (Sister Eterna) - owner, management
  • Mariah Everlasting - management
  • Doctor Stanley Morbid - doctor, health department, scientist
  • Marcus - psychologist, nutritionist (???)
  • Jamie - assistant to Mariah Everlasting

Notable Patients[]

Below there is a list of notable patients, which have been collected through various sources.

  • Bethany Harley
  • Donovan
  • Georgia Ramsey
  • Steven Court
  • "Jack"

The Dark Past[]

Most of the information available in regards to what occurred at Eldritch are subjective, and were merely collected from users who claimed they were there. Some of the claims involve experimentation, abuse, murder, and even exorcisms. Three specific accounts collected make mention of occult or paranormal things happening in the lower levels of the hospital, involving the upper staff members of the hospital. Namely Kendrake and Eterna. The history of the place inspired some YoVille Movies to be made on YouTube.

Today[]

The location of the original hospital and the several buildings it occupies remain a mystery. New information reveals that several of the locations previously believed to house the events were either of mistaken identity, hoaxed, artistic interpretations, or otherwise. The authenticity of the events that allegedly took place there, and whether or not the hospital ever existed, is still in question. Some users claim to have seen the place and recall the events appearing on the events list in January 2009. There are even ghost stories of users exploring "ruins" of what they believe to be the homes where the original events took place, where they'd allegedly encounter spirits, among other ghastly things.

Trivia[]

  • Eldritch Asylum was the very first asylum to ever open up in YoVille.
  • Eldritch holds the record for being the largest established role-play ever within the game.
